Branches Lifestyle Support - Update
We have some wonderful news to share about our friends at Branches Lifestyle Support.
Through the support of various events and third parties including Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments, Branches have received donations to date totaling $196,762! These funds have gone towards securing their dream support hub in Wynnum.
There will be various activities – a cooking class, art n craft classes, music and jamming sessions, literacy classes, a community garden, and their successful recycling program will be based there and this is just some of their plans.
The location is fabulous, across the road from a great park and walking distance to the Wynnum boardwalk.
The hub will come alive with renovations by the renowned Hammersmith Constructions, who are donating their time to manage the outfit of the building. The planned opening is the 6th of March 2021.
Branches are also planning on renting the hub out on evenings and weekends to the local clubs. Branches hope this will also get the local community looking out for people with a disability by creating more awareness.
The residence at the rear of the building will be their offices and an emergency respite house. Branches plan to paint and freshen up this space when funding permits.
The staff and their clients are very excited and can't wait for opening day.
