959 Ann St (Corner of Ann & Chester Streets), Fortitude Valley, Brisbane Australia 4006
Officially opening this weekend next door to the hotel on Ann Street is Cursive Knives . Brisbane’s newest literary hub is ready to slice up the scene.
The store is located at 969 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley. Walk right next door, past Restaurant Dan Arnold (on the Ann Street frontage of Alex Perry Hotel & Apartments). Cursive Knives is owned and operated by London writer Terri-Jane – the bookshop brings a sharp dose of literary attitude and a strong sense of community building and celebration of local artistic talent. The store's name draws inspiration from Bikini Kill’s hit song Bloody Ice Cream and pays homage to Sylvia Plath, one of the most dynamic and admired poets of the 20th century.
This new addition to the neighbourhood, opening in the lead up to the Christmas festive season, is filled to the brim and stocking everything from the latest bestsellers and homewares to tarot cards and locally hand-poured candles. Pop in and say hello and stock up on creative gifts for your loved ones.
Cursive Knives will be a welcoming space for customers to explore and engage with Brisbane’s arts and literary scene. Stay tuned as Cursive Knives Bookshop comes alive in the evenings in the new year, operating as a sanctuary for local creatives to host book clubs, workshops and other events that continue to champion local art and writing. Workshop dates will be released on the hotel Events Calendar page as their dates are announced.
