From the iconic to wildly obscure, Mr Chester wants to celebrate the producers from Australia, NZ and beyond, who are marching to the beat of their own drum. The venue is inspired by Karl Baedeker, a global travel guide pioneer whose innovative books set the standard for tourism in the 1800s. Baedeker’s iconic red books set the scene in their old world bar, as they take you back to a time of adventure, innovation and discovery.
The wine bar is set in a heritage listed building. Once a working inner-city flour mill, later an airforce army barracks and today, an old world inspired wine bar – a hidden gem of Fortitude Valley. Built in 1909, their walls hold many stories, many memories, but also a magical space they hope will inspire you to make your own.
City Winery Brisbane is a working micro-winery sourcing grapes from across Australia's key growing regions, bringing them to the city where Winemaker Dave Cush will create delicious wine.
A converted warehouse at 11 Wandoo St, Fortitude Valley is the home for City Winery Brisbane which will also provide space for private functions and events, a modern Australian restaurant and private dining in the Winery's cellar.
City Winery have also just launched a second wine bar, cellar door and bistro at Eagle Street Pier. Boasting a dedicated private dining space for up to 16 people, water views across the Brisbane river, and dining, wine tasting and a range of our food and wine experiences you've come to enjoy, the City Winery Eagle Street location is an exciting new addition to the Eagle Street traders.
